Trudy Montgomery’s tendency towards enormous scale and pure, bold colour is heavily influenced by the light and space of California, where she lived for 14 years.

She draws inspiration from her travels, both inner and outer, and sees her work as inner landscapes or ‘dreamscapes’. Working from a meditative state of action, Trudy uses the expressive possibilities of paint to convey what is, so often, inaccessible via words. Joyful and uplifting, her paintings portray an active vitality and the freedom of spirit.
