Using natural materials gathered from English woodlands Jane Bevan makes small assembled sculptures in which fragments and details of nature are held up to be admired and reflected upon.

These materials - bark, thorns, leaves and twigs are often overlooked, trodden on and discarded despite the wealth of colour, pattern and texture they offer. The irregularities, tiny imperfections and random twists and turns make each item unique.

Her search for materials is an endless and satisfying process as each day she returns with some new finds to incorporate into the work through assembly, twining, coiling and weaving. Some of Jane's work will be part of the touring Home Ground exhibition which will visit towns and cities whose football club origins are associated with a different craft industry.
